Yes! It was yet another good one today at Coker Park. My technique is getting there. The times I got the set up right is increasing. Matt says my foot work is getting heaps better. And yet again the third and second last throws of the session were the best where I got everything in place and good, strong turn in. Technique is everything to me. It really works. Good technique saves my elbow. Though the last throw, a crappy one kinda strained it a little. But nonetheless, it’s a good session. I can’t wait to watch the videos taken on Monday and today at Matt’s.
I think I kinda strained my hammies again though, which I think is due to fatigue from yesterday’s deep squat (I didn’t feel any fatigueness though). It was during my sprints. Yes.. Again… I haven’t hurt my hammies for quite some time and when I least expected it, something happened. Not good.. Thank God I managed to stop in time before anything major happened. Time to do some work on my hammies.
It’s another three and half weeks to the opening of my season in Singapore. I hope I’d be alright. I’m doing quite a bit in terms of recovery. Something that I’ve never really put any focus on despite knowing that it is also a very important part of training. I’m icing my elbow now after every training. It’s good. Kills the sore whenever there is one and keeps it healthy when the sore is not there.
Steve Backley said this on his website: “Winners are made not born.” I think it is very true. It’s the attitude that a person has and how much he really want to achieve something. Of course. The end does not, and will not justify the means. It has to be done with heaps of honest efforts. No short cuts! This applies to anything in life.
I can be a winner. You can be a winner too. Keep working at it! It can’t be anymore true than this. I have been through it. All the hard work (training smart) I’ve put in the past 2 years in javelin has put me at the level that I am in now.
